History

Over the past fifty years, Financial Investments Corporation (“FIC”) has grown from the first single-bank holding company in Illinois to a multi-faceted private investment firm and family office. Key FIC milestones include:

1967:

FIC founded to acquire the Hyde Park Bank & Trust Company

1973:

FIC became an owner of LaSalle National Bank as Harrison Steans became Chairman

1977:

LaSalle National Bank sold to ABN Bank (ABN AMRO)

1986:

Hyde Park Bank & Trust Company subsequently renamed USAmeribancs

1987:

USAmeribancs sold to NBD Bancorp, Inc.

The Steans Family Foundation was founded in order to organize the family’s charitable activities

1994:

FIC was revived to make private equity investments in a variety of industries on behalf of family members and past business associates

2007:

FIC combined operations with Concentric Equity Partners (CEP) in order to increase the focus on making direct investments into private companies
